VEN A VISITARNOS

Mi nuevo trabajo es una recopilación de meras observaciones de nuestro mundo y lo que nos rodea a diario. Ya sea naturaleza, arquitectura o imágenes en una pantalla de televisión, el ser humano se encuentra con una enorme cantidad de imágenes visuales que conforman nuestro mundo. Tomé las imágenes, tomé prestadas líneas, formas, formas y colores, las despojé de sus referencias literales y las utilicé para crear composiciones.

Aunque a veces las formas son aún más reconocibles o familiares, se mantienen lo suficientemente abstractas como para despertar la imaginación de los espectadores en referencia a estos elementos, evocando el pensamiento y la reflexión, dependiendo del punto de vista o las asociaciones de los espectadores.

Las figuras humanas, aves y botes a menudo se colocan en medio de una serie de imágenes no relacionadas de estructuras, paisajes y objetos familiares para sacudir la imaginación del espectador en relación con estas formas. Conceptos abstractos como el nacimiento y la renovación se vuelven tan palpables como las semillas y los huevos. Los barcos aluden a los viajes, las siluetas se convierten en tazas o recipientes, y los nidos se convierten en recipientes itinerantes. Al colocar estas formas, despojadas de sus referencias literales, dentro de la misma composición, el espectador se ve obligado a usar su propio proceso de pensamiento para completar estas representaciones.

Mi trabajo yuxtapone elementos orgánicos naturales en la naturaleza con formas estructurales más rígidas. Las mesas, macetas y escaleras se colocan en medio de árboles, semillas y hojas. El trabajo establece un marcado contraste entre la naturaleza y los objetos construidos y hechos por el hombre. Se inspira en establecer las similitudes y diferencias que existen entre ellos.

Mi trabajo más reciente explora la idea de comunicación y la falta de ella en un mundo donde la mensajería instantánea ha reemplazado al diálogo. Utilizo pájaros que parecen palomas mensajeras llenas de letras que no deletrean nada, como insinuando mensajes que aún no se han escrito. Estas aves a menudo aparecen en conjunto con círculos. El círculo es un símbolo universal con numerosos y extensos significados. Representa la totalidad, el infinito, la totalidad, el Ser, la eternidad y la eternidad. Implica un movimiento cíclico y simboliza el ciclo del tiempo y hace referencia al ritmo del universo.

Mi trabajo a menudo habla del anhelo espiritual que creo que es una parte central y universal de la existencia humana. Representan la lucha del hombre por comprender este universo y su propio lugar en su inmensidad. A través del uso de formas e imágenes aleatorias, hago referencia a temas universales que inspiran la autorreflexión por parte del espectador.

My new work is a compilation of mere observations of our world and what surrounds us on a daily basis.  Be it nature, architecture or images on a television screen, the human being encounters an enormous amount of visual imagery that makes up our world.  I have taken the imagery, borrowed lines, shapes, forms, and color, stripped them of their literal references and used these to create compositions.

Although the shapes are still at times rather recognizable or familiar they are kept abstract enough to spark a viewers imagination in reference to these elements, evoking thought and reflection, dependent on the viewers own point of view or associations.

Human figures, birds and boats are often placed amidst a series of unrelated images of structures, landscapes, and familiar objects as to jar the spectator’s imagination in relation to these forms.  Abstract concepts such as birth and renewal become as palpable as seeds and eggs.  Boats allude to journeys, silhouettes become cups or recipients, and nests become traveling vessels. By placing these forms, stripped of their literal references, within the same composition, the viewer is forced to use their own thought process to complete these renderings.

My work juxtaposes natural organic elements in nature with more rigid structural forms.  Tables, pots, and ladders are placed amidst trees, seeds and leaves. The work sets up a stark contrast between nature and constructed and man-made objects.  It draws inspiration from establishing the similarities and differences that exist between them. 

My most recent work explores the idea of communication and lack thereof in a world where instant messaging has replaced dialogue.  I use birds that resemble messaging pigeons filled with letters that don’t spell anything, as though insinuating messages yet to be written. These birds often appear in conjunction with circles.  The circle is a universal symbol with numerous and extensive meanings.  It represents wholeness, the infinite, totality, the Self, eternity, and timelessness.  It implies cyclical movement and symbolizes the cycle of time and makes reference to the rhythm of the universe.

My work often speaks of the spiritual longing that I believe to be a universal and central part of human existence. They depict man’s struggle to understand this universe and his or her own place in its vastness.  Through the use of random forms and images, I make reference to universal themes that inspire self-reflection on the part of the viewer.
